Coop Consorzio Nord Ovest from June 1 introduces the point of sale of Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy, vegetables and fruits with a brand new, “Orto qui” (Garden Here). It is local produce, grown on the territories of the three regions of the Consortium. There are about 60 references that rotate throughout the year.
The seasonality, which has always been a limit for supermarkets geared to standardize its offer, now becomes a value. The project was developed in 2 years, working on specific productions trying to protect biodiversity. The Coop, before arriving at the product intended for consumers, has built relationships with manufacturers in order to offer a significant offer in the various stores (34 hypermarkets, 117 supermarkets and 118 small and medium cooperatives).
