The Ex-Ante Carbon-balance Tool (EX-ACT) is an appraisal system developed by FAO providing ex-ante estimates of the impact of agriculture and forestry development projects, programmes and policies on the carbon-balance. The carbon-balance is defined as the net balance from all greenhouse gases (GHGs) expressed in CO2 equivalent that were emitted or sequestered due to project implementation as compared to a business-as-usual scenario.

« Sustainability labels on food products: Consumer motivation, understanding and use

Glamur partners will gather in Rome at the end of February (26th – 28th) for their third project meeting. At the turn of the first Glamur year, the meeting will mainly focus on the following research areas: scoping & framing characterization (Delphi, National reports, overall report); case studies and quantitative data collection; the policy analysis preliminary results. The meeting will also include the second consultation with the Glamur expert forum. The external Glamur Advisory Board, composed by food chain actors, NGOs and some policy player will comment research preliminary findings and inspire further action. Additional experts, i.e. those operating within UN food and agriculture Agencies based in Rome, will be invited to broaden and deepen the project focus. The meeting will be hosted by FIRAB in the premises of the City of Alternative Economy (CAE), Rome, a place which per se has much to say on local food chains, hosting experiences of direct selling from regional organic producers.
